Lin Feng went back to the grave for the second time that day, this time with Dao Cheng Zi. When they entered the pillar, they went straight into the passage which led to the grave. After another half an hour, they arrived in the great chamber.
Lin Feng pointed to the texts on the walls he didn’t understand. He said, “Can you translate these?”
“Alright, I will do my best,” said Dao Cheng Zi. He needed to think a little, but he should be able to do it.
Lin Feng nodded. He stood aside to give Dao Cheng Zi space. Dao Cheng Zi stood in the middle of the great chamber and read the texts on the walls around him. He raised his left hand and blue lights flashed. He immediately wrote down everything he understood at first glance.
He needed to think to translate the most difficult parts.
Lin Feng was bored and nervous at the same time. Dao Cheng Zi focused. He knew that the texts were not useless. They might discover something great after translating everything.
He hoped it wouldn’t be something too extraordinary. Lin Feng still had to focus on other things, and he also had to become stronger.
Three hours later, Lin Feng looked at Dao Cheng Zi’s expression. The latter looked glum. He hadn’t been able to translate the words at the top.
Lin Feng knew that being nervous and impatient was useless, so he just took a deep breath and sat down cross-legged. He knew he might have to wait for a long time.
Dao Cheng Zi suddenly turned around and stared at Lin Feng while running towards him. He suddenly looked afraid.
“Are you done?” asked Lin Feng in surprise. However, Dao Cheng Zi looked frightened and didn’t reply. He just grabbed Lin Feng’s arm and held it firmly. Lin Feng sensed that Dao Cheng Zi’s hand was cold and wet.
“What’s wrong?” asked Lin Feng. He naturally knew that the content of the texts was probably complex, but considering Dao Cheng Zi’s reaction, it seemed more than incredible. On top of that, Dao Cheng Zi had the strength of the fourth Great Supreme God layer, why did he look so scared?
Dao Cheng Zi took a deep breath and said alarmed, “Master, I read something astonishing and terrifying, I don’t know how to tell you.” He was truly frightened!
Usually, he didn’t act like this in front of Lin Feng, but now he was holding his arm and shaking it.
“Speak. Tell me what you read, and once again, don’t tell anyone about it, or you know what will happen,” Lin Feng ordered firmly.
Dao Cheng Zi looked grave and solemn. Naturally he knew what would happen. His punishment would be death if he spread the word.
“I read that the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames is an evil place which is connected to Tian Dao Yuan!” said Dao Cheng Zi in a low voice, swallowing.
“No need to be that cautious, nobody can hear you. What is the connection between the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames and Tian Dao Yuan?” Lin Feng asked Dao Cheng Zi.
Dao Cheng Zi nodded and spoke without hesitating anymore.
“The Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames has existed for a million years in the Continent of Eternity, but back then it was only a thousand-meter Lake of Fire, and people didn’t really pay attention to it.”
“And a million years ago, the Ancestor noticed it and realized it had potential. Accordingly, he put that Lake of Fire under the Continent of Eternity. He didn’t think that after moving it, he would lose control over it.
“After being moved underground, the new Ocean of Flames grew bigger and deeper, and it also absorbed people’s souls and determination as soon as they went in.
“At the beginning, the Ancestor could control it a little, but he gradually lost control. In the end, the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames became boundless and spread almost everywhere under the continent.
“The Ancestor lost control, so he hoped he could negotiate with the fire spirit which had emerged in the Ocean of Flames. However, the Ancestor ended up severely injured.
“The fire spirit was terrifying, but it wasn’t smart enough and was easily manipulated by evil people. They pushed him to make the Ocean of Flames the biggest danger of the Continent of Eternity,” Dao Cheng Zi explained with the greatest care as Lin Feng listened carefully.
The Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames had been moved by the Ancestor? A million years ago, it was just a small lake, and because the Ancestor of Tian Dao Yuan had thought he would be able to use it to make Tian Dao Yuan rise, he had moved it.
Indeed, the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames could have been useful, but the Ancestor never dreamed that he would lose control over it.
Nowadays, the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames was still one of the greatest dangers of the Continent of Eternity.
It was all because of the Ancestor of Tian Dao Yuan!
“No need to translate the rest. I guess we won’t learn much more. We already have the most essential parts,” said Dao Cheng Zi.
Lin Feng nodded, turned around and said, “Let’s go. I know everything I need to know. No need to say more,” Lin Feng said icily. No matter what happened, he remained calm and didn’t panic.
Dao Cheng Zi nodded. Indeed, they had nothing to do there anymore…
An hour later, Lin Feng and Dao Cheng Zi came out of the pillar and flew back to Tian Dao Yuan.
On the way, Lin Feng didn’t think too much about the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames. He kept thinking of the fire spirit of the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames. Who was he? That fire spirit probably had the strength of the fifth Great Supreme God layer now, if not higher.
Lin Feng didn’t understand why the Ancestor only had the strength of the Supreme God layer, though…
When they came back, Lin Feng told Dao Cheng Zi not to tell anyone about what they had read, and Dao Cheng Zi obeyed.
If anyone found out about that, other sects and clans would come, as the Ground Penetrating Ocean of Flames was something they all feared. If anyone came up with the idea that Tian Dao Yuan was responsible for that terrifying danger, they would do their best to destroy Tian Dao Yuan!
Late at night…
There weren’t many stars out. Lin Feng was seated by the window and looking out of the window.
The floor creaked as Lin Qiong Sheng entered the room and looked at his father worriedly. Lin Feng was in a better mood when he saw his son.
“Father, you seem worried since you came back. What’s wrong?” asked Lin Qiong Sheng.
Lin Feng shook his head and didn’t say anything. Lin Qiong Sheng walked away, sighing helplessly.
Lin Feng watched his son leave. He felt bad about it, but he couldn’t tell anyone about it, or it could lead to the destruction of the whole continent.
He needed to deal with the issue alone. Of course, he could also ask the four souls for help. How would they react if he told them? What would they think of the Ancestor’s behavior?
Everybody worshiped the Ancestor, even though he only had the strength of the Supreme God layer. Nobody thought his contributions hadn’t been great. Lin Feng didn’t deny the Ancestor had greatly contributed to Tian Dao Yuan, either. The only issue was… hadn’t he had eyes bigger than his stomach?
