The crowd gasped with astonishment while looking at that silhouette on the stage.

“Nothing to do with you? How amusing! If I had been weaker than you, wouldn’t I have died because of your misunderstanding?” Joked Lin Feng. Then, he said coldly: “When you take action, you have to consider the consequences.”
When Lin Feng finished talking, sword Qi immediately shot into his interlocutor’s throat. The crowd was astonished.
He died! Lin Feng had killed him without showing even a shred of mercy.
That person’s eyes, even though he had just died, were still wide open as if he would never have peace even in death.
Lin Feng’s eyes looked to the side. He looked perfectly calm and serene. Had it been a misunderstanding? In that cruel and merciless world, could there be so many misunderstandings? In that world, if a person was weak, a misunderstanding could lead to death. No matter if there was a misunderstanding or not, the other person wouldn’t care. Besides, he was planning to murder someone to flatter Wen Ren Yan.

I, Lin Feng, am a disciple of the Yun Hai Sect. I used to be and still am a disciple of the Yun Hai Sect. I am not like you, Wen Ren Yan, back in the past, when Duan Tian Lang attacked the Yun Hai Sect, who was the first one to betray the Yun Hai Sect?”
Wen Ren Yan remained silent, his facial expression looked glum.
“Wen Ren Yan, you betrayed your own teacher without a second thought. You are a traitor but today, you say, in front of everybody, that you were the most outstanding disciple of the Yun Hai Sect and that you are perfect. Are you not doing this because you think that, because the Yun Hai Sect has been annihilated, nobody will be able to expose all of your lies?”
“That’s enough!” Shouted Wen Ren Yan furiously. “Lin Feng, you are really shameless to dare spout these provocations!”
“Shut the hell up!” Said Lin Feng when he heard that Wen Ren Yan actually dared shout furiously at him. He then took a step forwards and released a deadly Qi which made Wen Ren Yan’s face turn deathly pale. He was rushing backwards as fast as he could. His facial expression was hideous.
“A piece of trash pretending to be a genius… and besides that, he dares to provoke me… Wen Ren Yan, do you still have any face?”
Lin Feng stopped smiling and said: “Wen Ren Yan, you are a shameless traitor and on top of that, you dare talk to me in such an insolent way.”
“That’s enough!” Said Duan Lie while standing up. He then looked at Lin Feng in a cold and detached way and said: “Lin Feng, get lost!”
“You shut the fuck up!” Shouted Lin Feng furiously.
Get lost? How ridiculous!
“A moment ago, were you not making up lies about the groom? Weren’t you saying that he used to be the most talented disciple of the Yun Hai Sect? Weren’t you saying that he was perfect. Now, what are you afraid of? Why are you so impatient to see me leave?”
“What do you want precisely?” Asked Duan Lie’s whose face was filled with killing intent. Lin Feng was detestable. Duan Lie just wanted to kill Lin Feng on the spot.
It was his daughter’s wedding and Lin Feng dared ruin it.
“What do I want?” Said Lin Feng smiling again. He then said indifferently: “Duan Lie, even though there has been some tensions between Duan Yu and me in the past, I already slapped her for her mistake, but you didn’t send any armed forces to chase me. I, Lin Feng, do not intend at all to provoke you and Duan Yu. Unfortunately, you chose Wen Ren Yan to become your daughter’s husband, but today, I have come to settle accounts with him. However, you decide to act, think carefully before you make your choice.”
The crowd was slightly shaking. Lin Feng was threatening Duan Lie.
They perfectly understood what Lin Feng meant. He had come to settle accounts with Wen Ren Yan, he could ignore Duan Lie but if he decided to get involved, he would need to think carefully about the consequences.
Lin Feng was threatening Duan Lie, an aristocrat related to the Imperial Family.

Lin Feng didn’t need to give these people face. All of them were his enemies. They all hated and despised him, so what? Things would go according to Lin Feng’s plans.

As expected, when Yu Tian Xing heard Lin Feng, he immediately looked extremely glum and hideous. His lips kept trembling with anger but no words were coming out of his mouth.
That bastard! What an abominable bastard! He didn’t know how to answer to Lin Feng. He couldn’t compete with Lin Feng so what could he do? He could only remember the hatred he felt for Lin Feng, it was deeply engrave it in his heart.
“You’re just trash, apart from the fact that you belong to a prestigious clan, you are nothing. You are worthless.” Said Lin Feng, he didn’t seem ready to let Yu Tian Xing off. Lin Feng sounded cold and detached as he was making Yu Tian Xing, whose expression became uglier and uglier.
Lin Feng thought that Yu Tian Xing was worthless and that apart from the influence of his clan, he was just a nobody. That was an absolute humiliation.
All these noble and wealthy cultivators, who belonged to the biggest clans, were fixedly and furiously staring at Lin Feng but Lin Feng didn’t care.
Since he had come to that place, he was ready to face all of them.
Lin Feng was mockingly looking at that bunch of arrogant cultivators. He then said a few words, sounding indifferent.
“If any of you don’t agree with me, you can be the first to stand up and try to stop me. The one who wins can keep on living while the loser dies. If you don’t have the courage to fight, then stay there while blankly gazing into the distance and don’t act recklessly.”
Lin Feng, alone, was provoking everybody else!

It’s because he knows that even though he’s excessively powerful he’s not so strong that he can truly run fully rampant and fully unrestrained. He’s far above the majority of even the “nobles” and the other “geniuses”, but he’s only on the high end of the tier of super geniuses. He knows his strength, and thus he needs the situation to be read as him being in the right, and him being correct. He needs people to know of his talent, and believe in the value of his future to guarantee that he’s in a position safe enough to reach his future, but he needs to keep offending people for the pressure to advance quickly. It’s a balance of challenge, dignity, and survival.
he also knows that not even 3 chapters ago he said he didn’t care about whats his face and was going to train and become strong enough that he could go and kill him without anyone saying a goddamn thing about but here he is now smack talking with the guy showing how petty he is
You should probably notice too from the previous chapter, the thing is when his accomplishment made to public, he got both enemies and more allies.
It’s like he is knew ‘which ppl he need to offend’ to make him strong and recognized by public (it’s obvious it’s his enemies, those who associated with them and those who looked down on him/shaming him).
I think all of these are reasonable, when he was in sect and being nobody and then stepped on, he then learn to make himself recognized that his talent is indeed surprasing genius so he could get more support (even it’s not pure honesty feeling, money is money, power is power).
I really love how the author put the briliant two old alchemist man to his side, it’s indeed true that there is someone out there who still have BRAIN and could make use of it.
the most important part s he wants to kill wen ran yan but need duan family stay out of it cu if lin feng act against a member of duan family even the least important one imperial family ll destroy him for the sake of protecting their pride.so he s just presuring everyone on the stage to scare duan lie off.
@^ even if lin feng kill a member of the imperial familly he would still be fine, 3 reason… first theres still duan wu ya backing him up (as long as its not of utmost important people and in his faction)… second its self defend (thats why he provoke them to make them attack him first)… third their position in the government is below lin feng (like Duan tian lang son)

He can’t just go and kill them. That verbal bout is necessary in this case. He’s building up his reputation while destroying his enemies’. Also, if they’re dead he can’t humiliate them anymore.
Also, if he accuses them and they end up unable to defend themselves, it’ll be like they involuntarily admitted their wrongs.
Those guys are people Lin Feng wants to kill mostly because of what happened to the Yun Hai Sect. Lin Feng wants to denounce what happened to his sect and slowly erode his foes’ reputation and prestige.
He can’t just go and kill members of the royal family and their acquaintances without making the public and the country acknowledge his right to take revenge against them. If they doubt his motivations to wage that vendetta, he could be labelled a traitor to the nation for example.
Indeed, the strongest is in the right, but it’s not actually as simple as that. Lin Feng has to deal with people having the highest statuses in the country, he can’t just go and kill them without justifying himself.
That was the same logic with his speeches in the Yun Hai Sect: he had to argue his way through to justify his actions. That might be hypocritical, but that’s the best decision to make in those life and death situations: he has no choice but to get rid of those people while building himself a fair and fearsome reputation at the same time.
Yeah true! But i think… oh nvm… I understand it thoroughly what was his plan…
If you weigh it that much – the pros and the cons, you’ll find Lin Feng acts timely and his judgement is accurate. If he won’t do it and act right now, it is akin to a snake set free in the forest to grow strong. That way, when Wen Ren Yan had stood firm on his foothold, building up his reputation and influence, how could Lin Feng crush him vulnerably easy? Besides it would be too late… coz whatever reason he gives to prove that Wen Ren Yan was a traitor of Yun Hai Sect, no one would believe… the same thing would happen like Duan Tian Lang lies and scheming which was never been given actual justice if not only for Lin Feng’s strength and courageous heroic actions.
But you know, I think, Lin Feng won’t act this way if not only they were lying about that Yun Hai Sect matter, Wen Ren Yan being the suppose “to be” the next Patriarch. Lin Feng won’t surely let such false and vile words to easily pass his virtue. Would it be really good to hear in the future, the truth covered with lies, and those lies were believe by people blindly to the truth? Ofcourse not? right? 🙂
So i think, even though his action is excessive, again it was planned to capture the attention of all the people. So everybody would attentively lend all their senses about the truth which will going to unfold 🙂

And remember, he’s marrying a Duan with blood spirit bloodline… Though it was not as pure as other clan members, its still a Duan blood spirit… Though i dont have any idea what would be the author’s twist with this story, but i think it will be exciting soon…
But my question is, why did Lin Feng brought with him Lan Jiao?
However, anyway I believe after this, he will be travelling in a far away place together with those 2 waifus to have train himself while adventuring…

Man. Tbh Lin Feng is sort of turning into a giant douche. Not saying the story isn’t still interesting, but he’s being pretty hypocritical. Thanks for the chapter!

Well. In the first chapters Lin Feng wasnt the first one to look for trouble. He wanted to do his own business but others wanted his life most of time. But now Lin Feng can go and train all he wants but no, he just go like asshole to ruin someone’s wedding. Like bragging is something you kill for.
I dont really like this character development cause in my opinion character of Lin Feng got worse.
I’m somewhat dissapointed about how he doing things. Right now he looks like most of the arrogant nobles with power.
Long as he doesn’t completely change his character like Jian chen in CSG. I don’t mind it that much.

Sad thing about all of this there is only 3 category of characters in this story. The bad\evil. The strong. The allies\good. If someone is ‘The bad’ you cant forget about character development of that character, cause he will always be a bad one. Lately Lin Feng dont care about how much exactly someone offended him. He will kill him in all cases. Even if the offense was some badmouthing. But he care so much about badmouthing. No one who say bad about Lin Feng can live. They all must die. Cause if character one the ‘bad’ side – he must die.
No chance would be given to the “Bad\evil” character to repent on their mistakes so this character would develop to be on the ‘good’ side.
And if you look how Lin Feng kill everyone even if its just badmouthing and remember how he thought that it wrong for arrogant nobles to kill weak as they want to, you will see that Lin Feng actually hypocryte as it is. Cause right now he is doing the same for a lot of side characters.

I will laugh hard if there will be situation where ‘The bad’ ones kidnap someone close to him and Lin Feng will be all like – HOW SHAMEFULL TO KIDNAP MY DEAR ONES, COME AND FACE ME DIRECTLY. Why i will l laugh? Cause Lin Feng was doing same shit, killing disciples of the some random sect leaders, because he wasnt strong enough to defeat them directly.

You guys really dont understand Lin Feng at all. He’s not being a douche. He clearly knows his limits in regards to provoking people who have slighted him in the past, as well as the people joined the bandwagon in always finding a reason to berate him and put him down, and about the wedding why wouldnt he ruin it..He has a longstanding enmity with that douche groom. Lin Feng always pays back his debts. He is the patriarch after all, it is his duty to avenge the Yun Hai Sect as well as to ressurect it. He has to find ways to bring the truth about the Yun Hai Sects annihilation into the light. The way he does it is probably the best way i can think of to achieve this. Big wedding attended by all the bigwigs(perfect), proving in front of all the nobles that he really wasnt the number disciple in the sect. I say he’s a genius. If he just murdered all his enemies how we would let the masses know the truth.
I can go on but i feel is getting a lil long and i can go on forever but do not wish to do so. So i hope ive shed a little light onto some of your confusion. If not, oh well different people different views.

Its just character of Lin Feng to always start talking crap about enemy. Always! This was nice to read at start, how he used tongue to shame opponents, but right now story development is very repetitive, even if story plot somehow nice.

And the guy he hates is faking what Ling Feng did and represented to the Yun Hai sect. As the current generation Patriach he really wouldn’t restrain his anger after such a shameless dislay.
